I have become slightly obsessed with getting a prime image of the Milky Way Galactic Core. Sounds like Star Wars, huh? The Galactic Core is the center of the Milky Way and is it’s brightest region. Sadly, Fresno and other cities create so much light pollution, planning a trip for photography can be problematic. Living in the central valley, the challenge is finding a dark site to shoot from. Yosemite National Park, Kings Canyon National Park and certain areas of the foothills provide the best areas. The summer of 2018 showed Mars, Saturn and Jupiter very prominent in our skies. They are represented in several of the images.
